Sweet Baby Carter

A few weeks ago my long time friend, Jenni, let me shoot her and her son, Carter!  It's been so long since I've photographed a baby!  We had fun and in just about an hour captured some great memories for this first time mom!  Thanks Jen for letting me photograph the two of you!

These were my favorite!
Baby feet are just so precious, I just can't help myself!!

Michael and Angela's Family

Last Sunday, (yes this is just a little late)  I met up with Michael and Angela and their four boys!  Zach, Jeremy, Jacob and Joseph, who I will forever call Joshua.  I guess he just looked like a Josh to me!  One would think that with my teaching background I would get names, but hey, I guess we can't always be perfect!

We headed to this fun Olathe park, on that very grey and cloudy day, where we had some amazing fun! We started out by a small waterfall and open rock area that had some great leaves on the trees that went with boy's sweaters!

All the boys wanted to do was play with these rocks!

We also found some cool graffiti and a dock, which created some of my favorite pictures from the day.
I'm not sure if the boys enjoyed looking at themselves or really wondered what was down there!

Across the lake we found this really cool house, which at one time looked like it was a house!  It's all boarded up now, but still left for tons of exploring.  There was an outdoor fireplace and what looked like a boat hitch by the lake.  Just makes you wonder!  But this little one stole my heart while we were there.

And in the end we all had fun!

Super cute!
You can always tell when you find a great family.  Every time I turned around these boys were hugging on each other.  Yes, I think it was true brotherly love!  Thanks Michael and Angela for letting me capture some family moments that hadn't been done in oh-so-long!

Family Pictures

As I'm sure most of you saw our family pics on facebook, but for those of you that strictly follow the blog I figured I'd better put them here too!

On Friday we headed out to a small, but very useful park in Olathe where we took several family pictures.  Even though this is my husbands family, they are awesome!  This picture includes my sister and brother-in-laws, my mother and father-in-laws, my wonderful hubby,  (He's the blond haired one) and our children.  Ethan the oldest, who obviously didn't want anything to do with the picture.  Sterling, our goofy middle kiddo, and April, the baby sissy who is about to be one!  Which I can't believe this.  I no longer have babies in my house. Somedays this is very sad to me, but for the most part we are looking forward to the fun things that we get to do with the kids!  No more being up at all hours of the night, no more diapers, being able to buckle ourselves, oh and the VACATIONS that come in our future!  No more taking the stroller, booster seat, baby food, pack-in-play, etc.  I look forward to these less cluttered days, but I think I will forever miss the sweetness a new baby brings!

this one was my favorite

It was a very nice day at the park, the boys got to play, pictures got taken, and afterwards we went over to my in-laws house to feast our Thanksgiving together!

Kayla's Day

On Sunday afternoon, I met one of the most adorable girls I've met in a long time. I say girl, but she is clearly getting ready to embark on a new stage in life!

Kayla is a very warm hearted person, and I could tell in the first 30 sec. I met her.  She was born in Iowa and plans to attend college there, where her parents went, isn't that cute?  She has two younger sisters, which I'm sure she is excited to adventure away from, at least for awhile.

We had a great day at Ernie Miller Nature Center, one of my favorite spots to shoot.  It was truly an adventure! And I love it when I find something new...

...like this fun tipi out of sticks! We had a blast in this.

This barn was an awesome end to our shoot, since I learned that Kayla loves her country music.  I can't wait to get together with her and her mom (and who ever else she wants!) to see the rest of their pictures.
